The beauty of Spring

We had some woodchipping to do in the garden today so I thought I would take an opportunity to get some happy snaps of hubby & the kids and couldn't resist grabbing a couple of photos of some of our flowers. This may well be the first time ever I have done this but after uploading them can see countless possibilities for scrapping. The shots would be lovely on the cover of a Mothers Day mini book and/or card and also a lovely keepsake for years to come of how we spent some of our weekends as a family. With processing at just 15c a photo I think I might print several of these for quick minute cards - add a rub on and maybe some ribbon and it's all done! How special would the card be with a photo taken from your own garden? Maybe I can talk everyone into a trip to the garden centre this afternoon? I am hanging out for a purple rose...anyway, back to the photos...

The first is our Burgundy Iceberg rose

Edited single Burgundy Iceberg2 (Small)

The second a David Austin rose - Jubilee Celebration

And the third - just because it's pretty (I love blue flowers) - Mum if you're reading this can you tell me what this plant is!! (As is obvious by that comment I am SO not a gardener but do love flowers!)

Most of my scrapping and cardmaking projects I now load on the Scrapsidaisy forum (see side link)  - why not pop over there and share your work with us too?

Baby Page

I haven't scrapped a lot of baby pages but this one came together very easily. My husband says he doesn't like it at all (so that's a bit of a worry) but I quite liked it until he commented..what do you think? It is basically what I call a product page - there's no fancy techniques or designs - just pretty product that (I hope) goes well together and complements the photo! Plus it came together so easily which I always love! As this little man of mine will be 14 next April I figured it's about time I started an album for his 18th!

The products I used...new paper at Scrapsidaisy Karen Foster Animals (too cute), Bella! Accent Alphaz and Me & You white glitter swirl paper, American Crafts Thickers Gift Box and Scrapworks Shimmer Shapes Heart Assortment & buttons from my stash.

Happy Sunday!

Well I hope everyone is enjoying a lovely relaxing Sunday! It is quite dreary and rainy here so I thought I would treat myself to a few minutes of card making. I used the scraps from my Basic Grey Euphoria paper and some left over alpha stickers I have had for ages (they're from the Cosmo Cricket Little Boys pack). Thank you to Julieann who gave me some brads last week (see I have already used one!). The flowers are paper ones from Prima (Sprites). I hope it inspires you!

Last weekend of netball

Well it has been a fabulous first season of netball for Maddie and it's the last day they play tomorrow - a big GALA DAY where they play lots of short games and all get a trophy at the end! Can't wait! As it's the end of the season it is only fitting that our fabulous coach receives a card and a gift! We chose a gift card from the Sports Store as she is an all round sporty type of gal and I have made the card below - I know it's a little blurry - the light was fading so I took it quickly on top of my car outside - very professional (NOT!!!). Anyway, it is a 12" x 6" big enough for all of the darling little Under 8s to write a message and big enough for me to stick the gift card in a holder inside too! Hope she likes it!

I used an old Catnips Cut Out for the "Netball" bit (I matted it up on black to make it pop a bit more), American Crafts chipboard letters for the rest of the greeting, Making Memories gorgeous flowers, a little silver mini brad, flourish stamp, black ink and of course some black white & blue cardstock - it all came together in about 20 mins so I was really happy with that!

Happy weekend to all!
